It was only a matter of time before Paige caught on to the privilages of being a princess. Avery learned very young and has been trying to enforce her rights as a princess for quite some time now. Paige insisted on wearing her shoes and this Happy Birthday crown that she found in Avery's toy box. As you can see, she does not appreciate Avery trying to take some of the spotlight from her. What a priceless picture!

Paige's surgery
Paige had to have surgery to put tubes in her ears yesterday. For those who don't know, she has had five ear infections in her left ear since June. The first one was so severe that the infection spread to the mastoid bone (in her head) and we spent four days in the hospital to recieve antibiotics. We visited the ENT (ears, nose, and throat) specialist a couple weeks ago and she discovered that Paige has an inverted ear drum. Basically there is pressure inside her ear that is sucking the ear drum in, causing it to be prone to infection and hindering her hearing on that side. Finally it made sense why she was always having infections on the left side and never on the right. Her surgery went very smoothly but of course I had to take pictures. Here she is in her gown right before going in for surgery.
Rainy fun
Sunday was a yucky rainy day. Usually the girls are fine to play in the house and we can pretty much keep them busy. Not so true this time. Avery was in need of a way blow off some energy. We bought this inflatable jumping house for her birthday party in April and discovered that it fits in the garage. Avery jumped on it for two hours!! What a great idea Daddy! Paige really enjoyed it too but it has a slide on the front and she would throw herself down the slide head first. As I'm sure you can guess, our garage floor is cement. Adam had to sit at the bottom of the slide and catch her each time before she hit the cement. I highly recommend buying one of these if you have a garage to put it in on rainy/snowy/cold days. They are the best!!

Garage sale
My friend, Nicole, and I are professional garage salers. We have one just about every other month. It is so nice to get rid of stuff on a regular basis and make some extra cash at the same time. Nicole is not able to have garage sales in her neighborhood so we usually combine our stuff into one sale at my house. Unfortunately, this weekend's sale was not as profitable as they usually are. When the sale was over we went to pick up the signs we put out and found out that the four that were on the major road to direct people into my neighborhood had been stolen. Who does that???? I will be on the lookout for someone else to be using them and hopefully get them back.
Halloween
We took the girls to my friend's church on Halloween because they were having Trunk or Treat. Everyone decorated the trunk of their cars and passed out candy. Avery dressed up as Cinderella and I didn't really have a costume for Paige but she ended up being a Pittsburgh Steelers cheerleader. It had been a long day for Avery already so she was not in the best of moods. She was more interested in watching "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" on the big screen they had than in trick or treating. Paige however, had a blast running around and making us chase her. She is so fast!
PJ's
I have discovered that there is nothing cuter than a baby in warm fuzzy pajamas. I can't resist wanting to hug and cuddle with Paige everytime I see her in her fuzzy jammies. She usually smells really good too since she now gets a bath almost every night after dinner. It's messy business when you let them feed themselves.
