Visit to The Villages

This past Saturday the girls and I visited my aunt and uncle who live a little bit north of us in The Villages. My cousin, Mary was also in town from VA so it was great to see her as well. For those of you who don't know, The Villages is not your typical retirement community. It is its own town, complete with a "downtown" that has restaurants, stores and even a hotel. The weather was beautiful so we spent most of the afternoon outside. The girls wanted to swim so badly but it just wasn't warm enough. Instead they rolled up their pants and sleeves and played in the water as best they could.

Yogurt

Paige decided to help herself to some yogurt at dinner last night. She is still working on the hand/eye coordination. What a mess!

Beautiful girls!

I very seldom can get a good picture (or any picture) of both Avery and Paige together so I was so excited to get these shots of them yesterday!

New playground

There is a new playground that just opened in Lakeland and we decided to check it out yesterday. It is massive and had a TON of fun things to do. These two pictures cover only about half of it.

Just having some fun.

Swinging

Paige really enjoyed the swing. She kept saying "Wee!" as you can hear on the video. (Sorry it's a little shaky. I was trying to video and push her at the same time!)

The hill slide

This is a very steep turfgrass hill that you can slide down. A lot of kids were sliding on cardboard but it's not really necessary. It kind of reminded me of sledding except on grass, not snow.
After riding down with Daddy, Avery tried it on her own.

Of course Paige wanted in on the fun too. However, there were a lot of bigger kids sliding down so Paige had the stick to the side.
What a silly face!

Just Paige...

California

Last weekend Adam and I went to California. He won this trip through a contest that Yamaha sponsored at his work. They sent us to the Supercross race in Anaheim. We were gone for three days without our girls. Although we misssed them very much, we did enjoy the freedom of being able to do whatever we wanted and not having to worry about feeding, diapering, pottying or putting them to bed! We flew out Friday morning and had part of Friday and Saturday morning to sight see. We rented a car and explored Downtown Disney (our hotel was a few blocks from Disneyland). Saturday we drove to Hollywood. Then Saturday night was the Supercross. I had never been to a Supercross but it was a lot of fun. The only thing that would have made it better is if it wasn't so cold! Here we are outside the Chinese theatre where all the celebrities put their hand and foot prints.
This is Adam with the Hollywood sign in the background.
The Kodak Theater where they hold the Oscars and American Idol auditions.
Anaheim Angels Stadium as we arrived for the Supercross.

Super Bowl Eve

The Super Bowl was in our neck of the woods this year and we seized the opportunity to go to the NFL Experience. Unfortunately, we had to go after Adam got off work so we were only there for a few hours but it was still a great time. The place was packed with Steelers fans. I was wearing my Steeler shirt but it was so cold I had to put my fleece jacket on. At least I could still sport the Terrible Towel. Here we are outside of Raymond James Stadium.

Watch him go!

NFL Experience

Here is the Vince Lombardi trophy. Yes, the actual trophy.
Adam had so much fun doing all of the games and activities.

Here he is kicking a field goal.
This is his second field goal attempt. He made both of them like a pro.

New bike

So I was driving home from running some erands on Saturday and I came across this bike at a yard sale for $2! I was so excited and it's just the right size for Avery. Adam took her to Walmart to pick out a helmet and she could not wait to ride it. She did really well.
