DADDY!!

Adam mowed the lawn last night and Paige stood on the sofa at the back window the entire time. She wouldn't take her eyes off him. A couple of times she climbed all the way on top of the sofa and I had to keep getting her down so she wouldn't fall through the window. She kept calling for him and was frustrated that he couldn't hear her over the lawn mower.

The Princesses

Adam's friend, Andy came for the draft and brought his daughter, Viviana to play with Avery. They had a BLAST playing with all of Avery's toys and dressing up like princesses.
Once again, Paige had to do whatever Avery was doing. However, this dress did not last on her longer than 60 seconds.

Draft Day

Sunday afternoon we held the first LIVE fantasy baseball draft. We have had one for football the last four years or so but this was the first for baseball. Almost everyone in the league came to our house to pick their fantasy teams. Adam lives for these days. Here Avery is helping him prepare by hanging the team rosters on the wall.

Adam sets up the computer in the living room because a few players who live out of town draft online through instant messenger.
Here is everyone studying thier mazagines and stat sheets to follow along and make their picks. This is VERY serious business.
Even Paige wants to get in on the fun! According to Adam, you can never start too early.

Happy Birthday Adam

Yesterday was Adam's birthday and to celebrate we got a babysitter and went to dinner. We went to Texas Cattle Company which is considered the best steak place in town. Not only was it an amazing dinner but you get a FREE ($23) steak on your birthday. I think almost every table had someone celebrating a birthday last night. Unfortunately, our first experience at Texas Cattle was anything but pleasant. The hostess skipped over us and we waited almost two hours for a table. Then they dropped my steak in the fire and could not get it cooked right after that. To top it all off there were onions (I HATE ONIONS) in my mashed potatoes! I think last night was my fourth trip back since the aweful first visit and each positive experience has slowly restored my faith that Texas Cattle Co. really IS the best steakhouse in town. (Sorry, I forgot to take a picture.)

A

Evidently, pushing a wheel barrow now requires wearing a helmet and kneepads.

P

Paige has these crazy long strands of hair on the top of her head. I guess they are her baby hair and the rest just hasn't caught up yet. I hate to trim them but I'm not really sure what to do with them either.

T-ball

Adam bought Avery a t-ball set yesterday. She is still trying to get the hang of it but I'm sure she'll catch on with Daddy's help!

a few extra...

The "unofficial company photographer" at Adam's work picnic took these photos. He has a great camera and we loved these ones.

SKY family fun

Adam's dealership had their annual family fun day this past Sunday. It begins with a softball game between the two stores (Adam's team won by like 20 something runs) and ends with burgers and hotdogs and tug-o-war. There is also a playground near the softball field so I usually spend my time chasing after the girls while Adam plays. The weather was beautiful and I think everyone had a great time.

Riding back to the picnic pavillion after the softball game.
Paige got a ride too!
Adam playing tug-o-war. He is the third from the left.

Goggles

So we have the little problem at bathtime. Avery does not like to get water in her eyes or anywhere on her face. Washing her hair is always a nightmare. I suggested that we buy her some goggles to keep the water out of her eyes. She was so excited that she wanted to wear them as soon as we got back into the car. She has only taken one bath with them so far and we are still getting the hang of it but I hope this makes for a much more pleasent experience.

Addison Rose

We had the pleasure of meeting Addison Rose on Saturday. She is the new baby of my college friend, Melanie. We had a great visit and she is such a doll baby!

Family picnic

Adam and I joined Avery for her school's family picnic last Friday. We all spread blankets on the playground and the school provided a great lunch. Avery loved having us at her school.
Avery's best friend, Kennedy couldn't resist sitting on Adam's comfy lap.

Softball

Adam plays softball on Monday nights. Unfortunately either the weather or the time of his game doesn't allow to watch very often. Sometimes it is too hot/cold or his game starts after the girls' bedtime. Last night was a perfect night for watching softball. It was in the upper 70's and still daylight due to the time change. The girls love to see Daddy on the field and are always trying to get his attention. Paige was so distraught that she couldn't touch him through the fence. She kept trying to get her hand through the openings and reach him.
Here they are talking to him at the dugout. Everyone thought it was so cute how they are just crazy about their Daddy!

Magic

Last Friday night Adam and I attempted to go to an Orlando Magic game. One of his friends from work gave us tickets since he just had knee surgery from a softball injury and wasn't able to go. Neither Adam nor I follow basketball but we almost never pass up an opportunity to do something without the kids (AKA have a date). Believe it or not my sport junkie husband had never been to an NBA game. I had actually been to one a few years ago. We knew we were going to be a little bit late since we had to wait for Adam to get off work before we could leave but we had no idea how late we would actually be. As we drove on an exit ramp of one highway, getting ready to merge onto another the traffic suddenly came to a complete stop. We couldn't see what was up ahead but since traffic was at a total standstill and police cars were driving down the shoulder we assumed it was an accident. Soon after we heard a caller on the radio call in to let all the listeners know that a truck transporting oranges had tipped over and the road was blocked by the millions of oranges that had spilled. Unfortunately, orange trucks tipping over and spilling oranges is a somewhat normal thing around here. Anyway, after sitting on the ramp for more than 40 minutes we finally made it the game halfway through the 3rd quarter. It was a close game but Orlando pulled thru in the last seconds to get the win.

Frogs

The pictures didn't turn out as good as I had hoped but I think you can see Froggie and Frogalina good enough. You are only supposed to feed them twice a week but Avery wants to feed them breakfast every morning and doesn't quite understand the twice a week thing yet.

Froggie and Frogalina

So we now have pets. We came across these self sufficient aquariums that a vendor was selling at the Strawberry Festival. They contain two little frogs and a snail to keep the tank clean. All you have to do is feed them twice a week and change the water in the tank twice a year. Very low maintenance. We thought this would be a great first pet for Avery and she has decided to name the frogs, Froggie and Frogalina (eventhough they are both male frogs). The snail is officially named Quack. Not quite sure why she chose these names but I think she tends to name things the first word that comes into her head. (One of her stuffed puppy dogs is named Cheese and she has a baby doll named Loga) Anyway, I keep forgetting to take a picture but will do so tonight and post tomorrow.

Strawberry Festival

So it's the time of year again for the Florida Strawberry Festival. This festival is HUGE deal around here and we try to go every year. They have all kinds of fun stuff like concerts, amusement park rides, craft vendors, pig races, livestock competitions, baking competitions and of course tons of strawberries! Avery really enjoyed making (and eating) her own strawberry shortcake.
Noni and Zampie making their own strawberry shortcake.
One of the vendors had these wiggle cars. You turn the handle back and forth to make it go. The girls had so much fun trying them out.
Even Daddy wanted to try.

Avery was excited to see the cows up close until they started mooing right next to her. That was an experience. She didn't want Adam to put her down. She felt very safe in Daddy's arms.

Random

These are just some random photos from this weekend. Paige LOVES a bath more than anything. As you can tell from the water she also loves to splash and make waves.
Avery just being herself.
Paige is pretending to go "night-night"

Sarah and Micah

My friend, Sarah and her baby, Micah came by to visit on Saturday. Sarah lives about an hour and a half from me so it's sometimes hard to make time for visits but we always have some much fun when we do. Micah is such a beautiful baby and it was fun to see her crawling around now. The weather was nice (80*) so we even spent sometime outsite on the front lawn.
